Unique in the marketplace, the balloon used in the Balloon Party Package features a special ball placed inside the balloon, shaped to act as a ball check valve when it touches the nozzle in the right manner and yet, it can be loosened from the nozzle with a good whack. So, this creates an ongoing process -- at the heart of both of its addictive games -- whereby the balloon deflates whenever the nozzle is left open but stops leaking air when the ball is back in the nozzle. ​

Multi-Player Game

​So, while it is certain that the balloon will eventually deflate, it is difficult to predict just when that will happen and that uncertainty/unpredictability is where the fun is. The multi-player game plays like hot potato. The last one to tap the balloon before it drops to the floor wins. Since the special ball inside can be displaced from the nozzle with a light tap of the balloon, this creates an ongoing process where the balloon deflates whenever the nozzle is open but stops leaking air when the ball is back in the nozzle. The winner of this randomly deflating balloon game is the player who touches it last, before it falls to the ground!

This creates a fun, exciting and easily understood game for almost all ages. We used to say that children under 8 are advised against blowing up balloons but now, with the easy and effective handheld balloon party pump, even very young kids can blow up these balloons and enjoy them as they please. Solitaire Game

​Similarly, the uncertainty of precisely when this balloon will fully deflate is the basis of a fun solitaire game invented by Mr. Juchniewicz. In that game, the player challenges him or herself to see how many times the balloon can be hit before fully deflating. Not unlike solitaire card games or yo-yoing, the solitaire game is the type of pastime that even an adult may engage in to take a break/clear the mind, etc.

Origin Story

Some years ago, Mr. Juchniewicz found himself housebound on a rainy day with two young girls that he had agreed to take care of for a friend. Since it was raining, he had to find an appealing indoor activity for the girls to engage in. So, he proceeded to blow up the last two balloons in the house and watched the girls play for a while, until one of the balloons burst.

So, once again, he was faced with the challenge of keeping both girls entertained indoors on a rainy New England day. Fortunately, this is when Bruce Juchniewicz had his Eureka moment. He fashioned a small ball from pieces of the broken balloon and proceeded to place it into the other balloon. This makeshift toy, with the small ball inside the balloon, occupied the children’s attention for the rest of the day. In this manner, Tara’s Toy was born.

Now, just a few years later, the Balloon Party Package is ready to be commercialized and brought to children throughout the world!
